On Sunday, July 12, 2009, DYNO members from Bergen County, NJ, traveled to Deer Brook Village in North Brunswick, NJ, to help Peter J. Kenny launch his campaign and announce his candidacy at 3:00PM.1
Kenny, 20 years old, lives in Deer Brook Village, which is a manufactured housing (trailer) community within North Brunswick. Kenny is autistic and has been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder but has not let that stop him. He founded the Byron Foundation to act as a champion for the disabled and is the Vice-Chairman of the North Brunswick Abilities Council. In the past two years, he ran for Board of Education and came within just 300 votes both times out of 1,600 and 2,400 cast, respectively.
This November, Kenny will be running for Deer Brook Village Chairman to challenge the entrenched incumbent so that residents finally have a true representative who not will not be afraid to stand up to the corporation that runs Deer Brook Village. Despite the efforts of various community leaders to throw him off the ballot and other fear tactics from the local establishment, Kenny is not backing down and is ready for a tough fight ahead.

As students passionate about supporting progressive reforms, we are managing Kenny's campaign and will work to ensure his victory in the fall!
